Si terrà la presentazione del libro 'RADICI E SAPERI - L'Istituto Agrario di Pescia oltre il secolo' di Pier Luigi Galligani e Andrea Voirgar.
Il volume ripercorre la storia più che centenaria di un'importante istituzione pesciatina e della Valdinievole, attraverso le note, i ricordi e la ricostruzione degli autori, che di quelle vicende sono stati in larga parte protagonisti; una scuola nata all'inizio del ‘900, che ha svolto e continua a svolgere un ruolo importante nella formazione dei giovani e che molto ha contribuito allo sviluppo dell'agricoltura in tutto il territorio della Valdinievole.
Il libro imposta il racconto dei fatti con rigore storico e precisi riferimenti, ma con lo stile della 'narrazione', ove scorrono le vicende che hanno riguardato anche la scuola italiana nel suo complesso, non senza parlare dell'evoluzione sociale ed economica dell'area ove l'Istituto ha operato e della trasformazione dell'agricoltura che ha interessato il ventesimo secolo. Il racconto termina con le vicende dell'anno scolastico 2023-2024, in 375 pagine e 300 immagini, che arricchiscono il contenuto e nelle quali molti lettori potranno ritrovarsi.
La pubblicazione è stata sostenuta in buona parte dalla Banca di Pescia e Cascina – Credito Cooperativo, alla quale va il sentito ringraziamento degli autori.
Dopo i saluti del Sindaco, Riccardo Franchi, del Direttore Generale della Banca di Pescia e Cascina, Antonio Giusti, e del Dirigente Scolastico dell'I.T.A. 'D. Anzilotti', Alessia Bechelli, seguirà la presentazione del volume a cura degli autori. Il dibattito sarà moderato da Francesca Giurlani, già dirigente dello stesso istituto.

The chalks of the 'sculptor narrator' find space in the rooms of the Palazzo del Palagio. A visit to the Gispoteca Libero Andreotti, located in the Palazzo del Palagio in Pescia, is an experience to try. Set up in 1992 thanks to the donations of his children, the museum collects the entire artistic biography of the sculptor from Pescia, testifying his happy relationship with the city that gave him birth. A relationship rebuilt over time, since the works were all actually realized in the Florentine studio of the artist. Over 200 sketches, models and monuments, saved by the family of Libero Andreotti, who after the death of the artist and until his arrival in the Palagio had great difficulty in preserving them. The Gipsoteca is divided into three floors: on the ground floor there are numerous preparatory sketches and models for the monuments of Bolzano and Milan and the majestic Pomona, lying on a bed of fruit. The large rooms of the second and third floors collect numerous models made in the early decades of the twentieth century. Andreotti draws with full hands from the Etruscan and Greek repertoire, without neglecting contemporary European artistic
experiences such as the ones of Rodin, Bourdelle, Medardo Rosso and others. Here the sculptures depicting dancers carry the visitor on a stage of a Russian ballet; the fruit saleswoman, the cherry tree and the fisherman in the suburbs of the cities where Libero Andreotti lived, like Paris and Florence.
