Sabato 18 ottobre alle ore 16 nella sala della Giostra del palazzo comunale verrà premiato, dal sindaco Riccardo Palandri, il campione mondiale di nuoto Gianmarco Sansone che quest'anno ha vinto la medaglia d'oro nei 100 metri farfalla alle 'Universiadi' di Berlino.
Un pomeriggio dove saranno anche ripercorsi la storia sportiva e i successi del nuotatore.
Gianmarco Sansone sarà intervistato dal giornalista Vezio Trifoni.
Alla cerimonia parteciperà anche il delegato provinciale del Coni Massimo Taiti.

The seventeenth-century building, originally home of the Medici court gardener who took care of the park of the Medici Villa, has had different functions over the centuries. One of the most evocative is represented by the area where the children of the court used to play on a wooden carousel placed in a large room: into the so-called 'Carousel Room', today seat of the town council, you can still find the stone fulcrum where the ancient carousel rested.

For a long time it was the seat of the primary school of Poggio a Caiano, now, for over 50 years, it is the seat of the Municipality of Poggio a Caiano.
