The Monsummano Terme Municipal Library was founded in the 1960s at the instigation of the Municipal Administration and some volunteers.

It developed above all as a reading and book lending center for a population in continuous demographic expansion, maintaining even today the characteristics of a place of aggregation and cultural and educational growth of students and ordinary citizens.

It has recently been building up an increasingly rich section of local history.

Overall, the heritage exceeds 44,000 volumes. It has a section dedicated to children and a small newspaper library appreciated by citizens. The headquarters are in the rooms on the ground floor of the ancient Osteria dei Pellegrini, adjacent to those that house, on the second floor of the same historic building, the Historical Archive.

The Historical Archive has long had a paper inventory for the part before the unification of Italy, while for the post-unification part there is a good computerized inventory on this site of 7502 records corresponding to as many archival news.

L'incontro è rivolto a bambine e bambini da 0 a 16 mesi, accompagnati da un adulto.
Si chiede di portare una copertina per fare un pic-nic letterario.
Ogni bambino riceverà un cestino con libri selezionati per la lettura da fare genitore e figli.
Massimo 12 posti disponibili, per esigenze di spazio.

Grazie al Fondo sociale europeo, si svolgeranno tanti corsi gratuiti rivolti a giovani maggiorenni e adulti presso il Mu.Bi. - Biblioteca 'Giuseppe Giusti'/Museo della Città e del territorio e le altre Biblioteche della Redop, con la collaborazione di enti e associazioni del territorio.

L'Assessorato alla Cultura di Monsummano Terme presenta il ciclo di conferenze, a cura di Guido Guidotti.
Nel primo incontro si parlerà de 'LA CONQUISTA DEL POLO SUD. La tragica spedizione di Robert F. Scott' e nel secondo appuntamento verrà raccontata la 'STORIA DELLA DERIVA DEI CONTINENTI. Montagne, vulcani e terremoti'.
