Proseguono le iniziative benefiche per poter effettuare il restauro del portone della Chiesa del Carmine a Montecatini Alto, andato parzialmente distrutto in seguito a un incendio, probabilmente di origine dolosa, accaduto nell'aprile del 2021.

La Parrocchia di San Pietro Apostolo di Montecatini Alto ha coinvolto quest'anno in questa onerosa operazione di restauro del portone un altro grande pianista, nato a Massa e Cozzile 60 anni fa, che non ha bisogno di presentazioni , essendo noto in Italia e nel mondo, stiamo parlando del Maestro Andrea Lucchesini, figlio del musicista Milado che ha subito accolto con grande entusiasmo l'invito rivoltogli per questa nobile causa.

Il concerto, per il quale è stato richiesto il patrocino del comune di Montecatini, si terrà lunedì 15 settembre alle ore 21 nella Chiesa di San Pietro Apostolo a Montecatini Alto e il Maestro Lucchesini suonerà musiche di Schubert, Brahms e Chopin. L'ingresso al concerto è ad offerta libera e l'incasso sarà interamente destinato al restauro del portone della Chiesa del Carmine in modo che la chiesa possa ritornare ad essere frequentata dai fedeli e dai visitatori.

Formerly dedicated to San Michele, the three-nave church was rebuilt in the 12th century when it became a parish church. Many restorations have taken place over the years, but the last one, which took place in the last century, brought to light the original Romanesque capitals incorporated into the pillars.
Inside there is a wooden crucifix from the end of the 14th century, the baptismal font from 1580 and an organ with elements from the same period. Just below the building stands the house where the poet Giuseppe Giusti lived.
