The oratory of San Lorenzo, of Romanesque origin, is located on a hill above the village of Pontemazzori and served as the parish church of the community from the fifteenth century until 1897 when, once the work was completed, it was taken over by the renovated church of Sant'Andrea. The building has undergone major renovations throughout its history, especially in the nineteenth century.
It has very simple shapes with a single rectangular hall inside facing south-east, plastered and white painted walls and exposed wooden roof structures. The gabled façade, with exposed stone facing, has the entrance portal framed in stone in the center. Above the latter, a small window with a shaped face was opened at a later date. Inside, an incomprehensible choice was to make the new altar for the celebration in exposed brick, inspired by a 'portion' of a Roman aqueduct, which conflicts with the simple but very dignified arrangement of this small oratory.

Facade
The gabled façade features a stone facing, laid out in wax and left exposed. In the centre is the portal, with grey sandstone frames, surmounted by a small window of a mixtilinear shape.

Plant
The building has a rectangular plan shape, with the major axis oriented from south-east to north-west and the entrance in the latter position. The interior is a single hall.

Presbytery
The presbytery is located in the final part of the hall and is raised by one step above the floor level of the hall itself.

Structural system
The structural parts of the building consist of continuous masonry, trusses and wooden decks.

Coverings
The roof covering is made of terracotta tiles and bricks.

Floors and paving
The building is paved with square brick tiles.

Decorative elements
The interior of the building features plastered and white painted walls and exposed wooden roof structures. The historic aedicule high altar, made with brickwork and stucco molding, is set against the back wall.

Bell tower
Located in the rear part of the north-eastern front, it is very old, even if heavily remodeled in the nineteenth century. It is made up of stone masonry with corner ashlars. On the level of the bell tower there are four archivolt windows.
