The International Park of Contemporary Sculpture, an ideal open-air continuation of the Museum of Sketches, represents a distinctive symbol of Pietrasanta and its ancient and deep-rooted sculptural tradition.

With a large number of monumental works of contemporary sculpture arranged in public spaces, the park bears witness to the strong bond between Pietrasanta and the masters of sculpture who have worked here or regularly frequent local workshops.

This open-air museum extends through the streets, squares and gardens not only of the city centre, but also of the hamlets. The positioning of the sculptures greatly enhances the urban landscape, integrating with interventions aimed at creating an appropriate setting, giving Pietrasanta a unique connotation that underlines the union between the city and art.

Il Museo dei Bozzetti 'Pierluigi Gherardi' nasce nel 1984 a Pietrasanta, a seguito di iniziative promosse da Jette Muhlendorph, con l'intento di documentare l'attività artistica degli scultori che qui si recano da tutto il mondo per realizzare le proprie opere nei laboratori artigiani locali. E' un'istituzione unica nel suo genere ed è il riflesso diretto dell'attività che maggiormente caratterizza il comprensorio apuo-versiliese ed in particolare Pietrasanta: la scultura.

Oltre 1000 bozzetti di sculture di oltre 350 artisti che hanno scelto i laboratori di Pietrasanta e della Versilia per realizzare le proprie opere. Un viaggio tra le creazioni della scultura contemporanea di tutto il mondo, un percorso alla scoperta del prezioso lavoro degli artigiani.
