Venere, Dea della bellezza e dell'amore esiste ancora. Creatura immortale, l'antica Dea vive oggi lontano dall'Olimpo e dai suoi parenti, immaturi, vendicativi, capricciosi, prigionieri come la Dea stessa nell'eterna bolla di tempo che è l'immortalità. Ha trovato casa a Parigi, fra gli uomini, di cui teneramente invidia la mortalità, che li costringe all'urgenza di vivere emozioni, esperienze sentimenti. Venere può permettersi di essere imperfetta tra gli umani.

Si sa: in tempi duri per tutti – in particolare per gli Dei in deficit crescente di fede e consenso – potersi permettere finalmente di vivere nell'imperfezione dell'umano esistere, godendo delle debolezze umane come la moda e il lusso, non è cosa da poco per la nostra Immortale Eroina.

'Immaginate la mia gioia. Una dea, condannata a vivere nell'eterna umidità del mare, scoprire l'esistenza della messa in piega!'.

Grazie al rapporto con la sua misteriosa e inseparabile cameriera, bellissima, Venere, quasi per gioco, nel momento in cui gli uomini non credono più agli dei ma agli eroi, ripiomba nel passato: nella storia di Amore, il figlio ingrato e disobbediente, e Psiche, sulla quale Venere- da suocera nemica- riversa tutto il suo rancore di Dea frustrata e di Madre tradita.

'Contro la straordinaria mortale, creduta Venere in terra', la vendetta sarà inesorabile e terribile.

Ma nel paradosso feroce e dolcissimo della vita che non risparmia nessuno, nemmeno gli Dei, Venere insieme all'odio scoprirà anche l'amore (… Io che sono sempre stata la mia sola priorità); un amore infinito e incondizionato per quel figlio ferito che, in fuga dall'amata, torna da sua madre per curare le ferite del corpo e dell'anima.

Ispirato alla favola di Apuleio 'Amore e Psiche', Venere Nemica rilegge il Mito in modo divertente e commovente a un tempo, in bilico tra tragedia e commedia, declinando i grandi temi del Classico nella contemporaneità: la competizione suocera/nuora, la bellezza che sfiorisce, la possessività materna nei confronti dei figli, il conflitto secolare fra uomini e Dei.

The Theatre was born under the star of a prestigious academy in Pescia, 'The Sharps'. A group of noble art enthusiasts who, moved by the love of opera, joined in a real expensive and risky enterprise. The Affiliates entrusted to the architect Giovanni Antonio Tani the project of the new theater that should have been built on the meadow of St. Francis near the Franciscan convent and gave him the burden of following the construction works that began on July 14, 1717 and ended about ten years later. The Theatre, a prestigious musical space, has undergone various changes over time:
- in 1756 the transformation of the gallery was carried out into fifteen stages which were then increased and arranged in five orders in 1795. In 1888 the safety exits, the lighting system and the furnishings were arranged. The renovation ended in 1889 and on May 10 of that year, the Theatre was finally inaugurated on the notes of 'Saffo', the most important opera by Giovanni Pacini, a citizen of Pescia, to whom he was titled the building. Due to a major financial and management crisis, the Theatre had to stop its activity and remained closed from 1907 to 1925, when it was given back to the population. But during the Second World War it suffered great damage during the withdrawal of the Germans and only in 1947 was restored. Then it became, from the mid- sixties, property of the municipality which during the eighties carried out important restoration works under the guidance of the architect Francesco Guerrieri. Its final reopening was on December 13, 1990.
