Saint John Bosco, also known as Don Bosco, was a 19th-century Italian Catholic priest who founded the Salesian Congregation and the educational system known as the Preventive System. His work focused on the education of young people, especially disadvantaged children, and had a significant impact around the world.
The construction of the church, in the Marco Polo district, began on May 18, 1954 and the work, completed on October 9, 1956, was consecrated on May 25, 1957. From a structural point of view, it consists of a reinforced concrete framework, with a central nave flanked by two aisles and the presbytery. Inside there are mosaics that enrich it, while the high altar, the baptistery, the balustrade and the railing of the choir are decorated with elements of statuary marble and imperial red granite.
