Walking through Cecina you come across its beautiful little square, of medieval origin, where we discover on one side one of the two access gates to the village, through the 600 meters of the perimeter wall, and on the other the rear and oldest part of the Church of San Niccolò.
About two meters from the ground, two stones can be discovered, with Greek crosses engraved on them, still clearly visible, as evidence of a period of Byzantine-Lombard domination.
