The square was inaugurated on 19 June 1993 and is dedicated to the fallen of all wars.
It represents a very clear signal of historical memory and serene confidence in the future of man.

It is a typical village square decorated with large monumental sculptures by Jorio Vivarelli, a Pistoian famous throughout the world for his artistic activity, who left here in Ponte Buggianese a clear and limpid example of a work for the post-modern age.

The monument consists of a four-meter-high bronze (the man of every era, dominated, killed, overwhelmed) from which starts, like an umbilical cord, the path of Resistance and hope, which ends a few meters away in a full-round sculpture, which symbolizes a container of life. The cosmic and highly educational meaning of the work must lead to a total reflection on history to create a humanity that has faith in tomorrow.
