The original title of this incredible work is 'My brother is here'.
Paysage by Andrea Dami is an artistic landscape within a real geographical landscape; the work is in relief and triangular in shape to recall the surface of the Padule.
Inside it contains 175 'worked panels' dedicated to the 36 fallen from the municipality of Larciano, 77 from Cintolese, 24 from Stabbia, 6 from Massarella, 1 from Querce and 31 from Ponte Buggianese, who 'represent' the victims of the massacre that occurred on the morning of 23 August 1944.
The sculpture is therefore composed of 175 rectangular, irregular fragments, as different as the lives of the victims, which 'float' in the marshy basin.
The small panels representing the fallen of Castelmartini (36) also show plastic signs: quadrangular or cubic to remember the women, spherical and round to remember the men.
Andrea Dami and Simone Fagioli have transformed the surface of this ancient cemetery into a large 'postcard'.
