Wooden crucifix present in the Church of Santo Stefano: a 17th century work restored in 1935 and donated by the Rospigliosi family, located on the second altar of the right nave.

In this wooden sculpture, Christ stands out against a red damask silk background and intends to express his suffering at the moment of his passing.

The church of Santo Stefano was dedicated to the patron saint of Lamporecchio and stands on a beautiful hill. The current building was constructed on an existing church from the 14th century in Florentine Renaissance style between 1900 and 1921. Today, only the bell tower remains of the old church.

The altarpiece depicting the Visitation of the Madonna to Saint Elizabeth is certainly the most evocative work inside, together with the beautiful 17th century wooden crucifix.
