In Stignano, in the characteristic little square, is the birthplace of Coluccio Salutati, where he spent his childhood before moving to Bologna.
It is a very particular little stone house, which, despite having suffered damage and renovations over time due to the many lootings and fires suffered by the town, still shows a plaque indicating the words 'Birthplace of Coluccio Salutati.'
He invested much of his personal wealth to create a very rich library, very large for the time.
