The church dedicated to Santa Marta in 1517 was intended for the use of Benedictine nuns and was part of the homonymous convent of Santa Marta.
The inhabitants of Borgo a Buggiano hold this church very dear because it preserves the ossuary of the fallen in war, tombstones and tombs of the soldiers of Borgo a Buggiano.
Inside there are some paintings of great value such as: 'Saint Benedict heals a child' and 'The Assumption of the Virgin', both animated by a strong devotional sense and particularly intense.
On the main altar there is a work depicting 'Saint Marta tames a dragon'.
