One of the first tools invented by man for measuring time was the sundial. Its operation was based on the observation of the Sun's shadow and on how it changed during the hours of the day and with the passing of the seasons.
Wandering around the village of Cerreto Guidi we can have fun finding the sundials on the facades of the houses and admire their logical simplicity.
Nowadays they have lost their practical function but they still have something to teach: they make us rediscover the mysterious course of the stars and the cycle of the seasons and show us the immutable 'shadow' of time.
