Caterina road

The path takes its name from Leonardo's mother: it is thought to be the path that Caterina took from her home in San Pantaleo to the house where her son lived with his grandparents in Vinci. The path begins in Piazza Leonardo da Vinci, under the Androne Ciofi. The view over the Vincio valley along the way is fascinating. The Caterina road ideally ends at the church of San Pantaleo, but it is possible to continue and return to the starting point passing through the localities of Mazzantino and Piatino. In winter or after the rains, the low path along the Vincio stream presents problems with mud.
