The path connects the center of Vinci with the birthplace of Leonardo in Anchiano. The route begins on the north side of the village on the paved road that passes alongside the Mill of La Doccia, mentioned by Leonardo da Vinci in the Codex Atlanticus. It then continues climbing steeply, surrounded by vineyards and olive groves, offering magnificent views of Vinci and the surrounding area. The Green Road is the best known and most historic path in Vinci; in the past it was called the Botanic road. Along the way it is possible to visit the Acquaria art park, detour to observe the weir of the Mill of La Doccia, visit the characteristic village of Leano or visit the Leonardo Exhibition in the splendid setting of the Ferrale Villa. Total length: 1800 m (from the center of Vinci to Leonardo's birthplace) Type of route: pedestrian, cycling. Road Fund: dirt road with some stretches of paved road. Degree of difficulty: easy with medium slopes.
