Starting from Stazione Masotti, we follow the tree-lined avenue in front of the station until we take a paved road until, after a series of industrial warehouses, it becomes a dirt road. We continue until we cross a forest of holm oaks. We continue to climb through fields of olive trees until we reach a group of houses and a crossroads, characterized by a ruined boundary stone with an iron cross. We turn left then at a subsequent crossroads we turn left again slightly downhill into the woods. The road then joins the paved road. We continue the route and just before reaching the farmyard of the farmhouse, at a large concrete pole, we take a road on our right that goes down through the fields and into the woods. Immediately after crossing a stream, the path becomes wider until it comes out onto the paved road which is also the meeting point with Sent. 817. In front of us is the paved road leading to the town of Vinacciano (reachable in a few minutes); on the left instead the asphalt road goes down to Collina and then to Pontelungo, a hamlet on the outskirts of Pistoia.
