The castle of Vinacciano is mentioned in a document written by Ottone III to the bishop of Pistoia in the 998 a.C. He made the inhabitants of Vinacciano to war against Pistoia, but Uguccione didn't win. Later, in the 1318, Castruccio Castracani from Lucca warred against Pistoia and he conquered Vinacciano.
