The first inhabitants lived on the Saint Biagio' s hill and they built a temple dedicated to Venus here. Later, it became a space consecrated to Saint Romulus.
Here the first church of Casalguidi was built and it was dedicated to Saint Biagio, a famous saint in Pistoia. He was also featured in a wall painting inside the Saint Michael' s church in Serravalle Pistoiese.
After its destruction by Longobards (VIII century), the village became under the controll of Ildebrando of Guidi counts, who went to the First Crusade.
Now there are only the ruins of the Saint Biagio's church.
