The processing of serene stone has always been in the blood of the Vellano's people. Lino Biagini was part of this array of skilled workers and, in memory of his father and of the whole group of these 'stone workers' who, with their hard work, had made Vellano a renowned centre, Publio felt growing in itself the desire to remember and makes others know, not in a academic way, but with a condensation of life and matter, of vision and manualization, this exhibition itinerary of their 'tools' of work, with a collection of minerals and 'stones', with a guided tour of everything that concerns quarries, mines and minerals in the broad sense. In addition to the service of guided tours carried out by experts, there are about 2000 volumes on the subject and 100 audiovisual cassettes that can be borrowed by those who request it. On this site there is a photocopying and fax service, sale of minerals, fossils, souvenirs, gifts and local stone artefacts. Local historians, mineralogy and ethnic students, pupils of schools of all levels, with their teachers and escorts are especially invited. In addition, the village offers an unspoiled landscape in the green of 'Switzerland of Pescia' and the possibility of refreshment at affordable prices.
